At Phoenix Detailing, we recently completed a full front paint protection film (PPF) package installation on a 2019 McLaren 720S-a process that demands both technical skill and attention to detail, especially given the car’s complex curves and premium finish.

Preparation and Surface Cleaning
The process began with meticulous surface preparation. We thoroughly washed the entire front end of the McLaren, including the hood, front bumper, fenders, and side mirrors, to remove all dirt, dust, and road grime. Next, we used a clay bar to extract any embedded contaminants from the paint, ensuring a perfectly smooth surface. Finally, we wiped down each panel with a chemical to eliminate any residual oils or waxes to ensure optimal adhesion.
Custom Cutting and Film Preparation
Given the 720S’s intricate design and sharp aerodynamic lines, we used custom cut PPF kits designed specifically for this model. These kits are cut in house using advanced software and plotter to match the unique contours of the McLaren, ensuring a seamless fit with minimal visible edges.
